What is AI?
You've probably encountered AI without even being aware of it. When you wake up in the morning and unlock your phone with biometrics, that's AI. The stories you read in your social media feeds were selected for you by AI. Maybe you watched a movie on Netflix or bought a book on Amazon, based on the platform recommendations? That too was AI. When you google something, the search engine uses AI to deliver what you want. Finally, when you ask Siri a question, your phone pings servers in the cloud which use AI-based natural language processing algorithms to understand and respond. AI is all around us.
Changing the world
Over the past decade, advances in AI have begun reshaping nearly every industry on the planet, from transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, retail, energy, finance, education, and healthcare. The impact is so pervasive that some analysts speak of a fourth industrial revolution to describe what's happening. These trends will continue to accelerate.
A role for Humans
Despite all the hype about AI, itβs still rather limited today relative to human intelligence. AI is only as good as the data it is trained on. If the data is incomplete, flawed, or wrong, then the AI will perform poorly. That's why humans are still needed to bridge the gap ... and why we created Synesis One to help train AI.
